The core value of my work is safeguarding children from abuse with a Keep Safe package for primary aged children, to help them become aware of their bodies and how to keep themselves safe. Children and young people gain the tools to help develop their safety awareness and personal boundaries, lessening their vulnerability, whilst helping to increase their resilience and ability to find their voice.
School-based counselling covers a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, including peer pressure, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, body image issues, and exam pressures. Young people are able to deal more effectively with issues and challenges such as friendships, relationships, peer pressure, bullying, self-identity and exam pressures that help to bring them personal change.
Younger children are often very active and with a range of toys or creative activities, they engage, are more responsive, and often willing to return. By working creatively, younger children are able to have a voice through their play.
Keep Safe for Parents
I also use a prepared programme to educate parents about perpetrators of child sexual abuse that is predominately talk therapy using a person-centred approach, where the parent or carer is free to explore and discover what he or she needs in a genuine, empathetic, accepting atmosphere.
